Reflection #6

My project is coming along not as great as I wanted but I am getting the things I need to have a good project. I still need to get the supplies for the book but other than that I am pretty much set and almost ready to present. Picking my product was an easy and hard one because I thought is was easy in the way I can work with my mom on it. It was hard because I wasn't able to collect all my recipes from my peers I needed so I will have to go a different route.
I'm going to use recipes that have been past down to my mom and my family. Those will hopefully bring that warmth and lovingness I want in my product and my project. I want my peers to feel that they mean something through food.

  • Making a cookbook is pretty much like a arts and crafts project. It can be an easy process but it all depends on how much work you put into it. The effort is the most important thing you can have in anything you do, no matter if its from work or just for fun. Only thing that can be hard to get it published by someone and get it sold to the us or the world.

Reflection #4

The process of my product is that I am almost but not quit done with it, I still need to construct my actual product. All I have to do is get all my recipes needed and get a nice book to put them in.
I still have some more reflections to write but other than that I am pretty much on track to presenting my project.
This project has been kind of complicated but it been alright so far. I found it to be hard to think about what I was going to present in front of the class.
I am worried about not presenting a good product and not explain my reflections on it to everyone so it will make sense.

Interview Reflection

Unfortunately I wasn't able to get in contact with my person of interest for the interview but I choose someone else to ask my questions to.
I choose my mom because she loves to cook and is really good at it, She may not be a professional in others eyes but she is really talented and she used to be  personal chef for this gentleman that she had grown to love like he was family.
She expressed how cooking is the way she relaxes and the way she can experiments with the way she makes her food. Personally i think the best dish she has ever made is her turkey with this really special rub that has been passed done to her from her mom and her chili is the best I ever had.
No matter what anyone says she is such a great cook and always will be,

Passion Reflection

My questions for this week were

  • What is the best way to create a cookbook?
  • What is a cookbook supposed to look like?
  • How long should your cookbook be?
  • Does it need pictures?
  • How many recipes are usually in a cookbook?
I learned that making a cookbook is pretty simple in a way. I learned that to make a good book, you need nice and creative visuals and formatting is important. Some things that inspired me were to that by making my book special is by making it  my own with my peers culture as well. This project will give me a better perspective on my life and the lives of the people around me.

My plans for next week is to go around asking my fellow class mates what there favorite recipes are and ask them are they willing to let me use them in my product.

Reflection #2

What is the best kind of way to create a cookbook?
What is a cookbook suppose to look like?
How long should it be?
Does it need pictures?
How many recipes are usually in a cookbook?

  • Best way to start a cookbook is to start with a hard back or spiral bound book. Customization is a big part also.
  • A cookbook should have some type of food on the front or have some type of font that looks appealing.
  • should be about 20 to 30 pages long with include pictures.
  • Pictures provide the reader with a visual presentation of what the food would look like when finished.
  • Usually around 30 to 40 recipes in a cookbook on average.
